EPISTEMOLOGY OF INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH IN HUMANITIES
Ementa: Theories of knowledge as a support for the discussion and the exercise of interdisciplinarity. Reflection on the creation of a new scientific paradigm. Methods of research in Humanities. Theoretical restructurings based on interdisciplinary integration. Thoughts on culture from an interdisciplinary perspective.
HIGHER EDUCATION INTERNSHIP I
Structure and Functioning of Higher Education. History of Higher Education in Brazil. Teacher training and its implications in teaching and learning processes. Teaching, research and extension at the University. The classroom and the organization of the pedagogical work. Planning and evaluation in higher education. Elaboration of the supervised internship plan. Supervised internship seminar.
SEMINAR OF METHODS AND RESEARCH TECHNIQUES IN HUMANITIES
Introduction to the main methodologies and techniques of research in humanities. Quantitative surveys, census and survey; qualitative research in sociology; ethnography; oral history and life history; documentary research and critique of archives; cartography; research participants; literary critique and art.
SEMINAR: ORIENTATION AND SUPERVISION OF RESEARCH IN HUMANITIES I
Readings oriented to the research developed in the form of Masters Dissertation. Socialization of research oriented by the same professor or by groups of professors linked to the same field of research. Individual meetings for orientation. Group meetings for orientation. Seminar on socialization of research. Preparation and revision of text for the Masters Dissertation Qualification. Qualification of Masters.

Readings oriented to the research developed in the form of Masters Dissertation. Seminar of Dissertations in Progress. Preparation and revision of text for the Defense of Masters Dissertation. Defense of Masters Dissertation.
TOPICS ON CULTURE THEORIES
Interdisciplinary studies on culture. Culture concepts revisited. Discussion on the concepts of culture and its specificities: ethnocentrism, evolutionism, relativism, hybridization, acculturation, transculturation, invention. Popular culture and erudite culture; mass culture and elite culture, intermidiality and interculturality. The place of cultural studies in the field of cultural studies.

CULTURE AND NATURE
Classic and contemporary approaches to the concepts of culture and nature. Nature and culture: the production of nature. The environment as an element of culture and nature. Critique of nature / society and culture / environment dualisms. Sociology and Environmental Rationality; Eco-development and other alternatives uses of nature. Societies and configurations of territories and environment. Modes of life, local territory regimes and diverse political processes.
CULTURE AND POWER
Cultural representations and the establishment of hegemonies in domestic or international scope. Mechanisms of representation used by cultural goods such as literature, cinema and music. Reception of cultural goods by critics in the light of a transdiciplinary theoretical instrument of deconstructive character. The consolidation of hegemonies through culture. Symbolic relations of power. The politics-theater.
CULTURE, IDENTITY AND SOCIAL MOVEMENTS
Culture and identity. National identity. Contemporary identities: gender, sexuality, religion, politics. Ethnicity and processes of construction of contrastive and situational identities. Ethnic emergence, state policy and social movements.
EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SOCIETY
Education and culture are different concepts in time and space. Monocultural education and challenges of educational practices based on the humanization, dialogue and emancipation of the subjects. Art in Education: Interterritoriality and interdisciplinarity. Planetary education, structured under a Paradigm of Complexity.
HIGHER EDUCATION INTERNSHIP II
Structure and Function of Higher Education. National Curricular Guidelines for undergraduate courses. Policies for the evaluation of higher education: ENADE and other references. Research as teaching practice in higher education. Extension as teaching practice in higher education. Teaching and learning planning. Internship and teaching in Higher Education: dialoguing with theories and practices. Teaching in higher education.
INTERTEXTUALITY AND INTERART STUDIES
Language and representation. Sign (linguistic) and text. Verbal and non-verbal text. Intertextuality (s). Semiotic approaches of the arts (Intersemiotic translation and ekphrasis). Comparatism as a methodological perspective. Dialogues between literature and other arts. Cultural studies and other transdisciplinary discourses involving texts in various arts.
KNOWLEDGE, TRADITIONAL PRACTICES AND LEARNING
Production of traditional knowledge and its reproduction through learning among indigenous peoples, extractivists, and riverine people in the Amazon. Perspectives that treat learning as a diffuse phenomenon that occurs from social practices. Presentation of theoretical and ethnographic studies of environmentally and socially situated practices of knowledge production and reproduction.
MATERIAL AND IMMATERIAL HERITAGE
Theoretical and methodological paradigms on the concept of Heritage. Reflection on the place and practices of materiality and immateriality in social relations. History, memoirs and heritage. Intersections between Geography and Tourism and heritage studies. Heritage and the Amazon. Art, museums and heritage.
NARRATIVE, IMAGINATION AND CULTURE
Theories of History, Literature and Cultural Studies. Cultural images of the Amazon and narratives of locally born writers or from the foreigner´s point of view. Historical questions, interdisciplinary frontiers and dialogues, written and oral narratives that problematize the disciplinary field and national identity: official versions and case studies and categories. Intangible heritage and collective identities from resistance movements and narrative insurrections.
POST-COLONIAL STUDIES
The struggles of national liberation and the establishment, from the intellectuals of the former colonies, of a broad debate on colonialism and the resistance that crosses subjects and diverse themes: history of science, literary criticism, anthropology of colonialism, cultural studies , decolonial sociology, education and popular communication. The class addresses the classics that gave rise to these debates.
SPECIAL TOPICS ON INTERDISCIPLINARITY
Dialogue between disciplinarity and multidisciplinarity. Different types or degrees of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity. Contributions of interdisciplinarity in the field of science and teaching. Interdisciplinary training. Art as an interdisciplinary field. The city as an interdisciplinary space.
SPEECH AND SOCIAL REPRESENTATION
Representation of social events and social actors in postmodernity. Discourse on globalization and social change in society. Fragmentation of identity. Culture in postmodern society. Time and space in modernity. The postmodern condition. The rise of modernism as a cultural force. The glocal (Global + Local) and social facts: language, religion, art, work and festivals.

Aesthetics or the Philosophy of Art and the History of Art. Aesthetics in the Greek World (Socrates, Plato and Aristotle). Aesthetics in I. Kant and G. Hegel. The History of Anonymous Art by H. Wöllflin. Historical Materialism and the History of Art. Psychology in art. Postmodernity in art.

TOPICS ON CULTURE AND ARTISTIC LANGUAGES
Reflection on more significant transversal topics of artistic phenomena of the contemporary society. Artistic production analyzed from the aesthetic and cultural point of view, linked to the political tensions (gender, ethnicity, groups and communities), social (class inequalities), ecological, as well as the insertion in the cultural industry and the contradictions of the art in contemporary capitalism.
